SewSister’s most recent journey into the quirky world of creature creations has resulted in some fabulous handmade characters – when you see them you will just have to find an excuse to own one!!
Sue is currently creating a whole new range of quirky colourful creatures and recycled jewellery...we love them soooo much! We’ll show you some of the finished products soon!
Hello J and welcome to SewSister – a warm and happy place full of original and creative products, which we hope you will love as much as we love making them. All of SewSister’s products are original and handcrafted by Sue Allan.
Sue has developed a naïve style that has evolved from her research into historical and ethnic textiles. It was the use of simple stylised shapes that she found most appealing . Sue makes use of natural and recycled materials whenever possible but feels a particular affection for felt.
Love, warmth, the heart, nostalgia, past times and memories are important to us here at SewSister and the finished products are an effective means of reinforcing these themes and bringing them into people’s lives. The designs, motifs, incorporated techniques and materials used stem from the past but are now subject to new and contemporary interpretation.
